It is an artificial dwelling cave where man lived in the prehistoric age. This relic was accidentally found during the ground leveling process for the construction of Seongshim Women's University (the present Hallym University) in 1962.

It is located in the eastern side of a mid-slope of Mountain Bongui that was called Jinsan meaning the guardian mountain of Chuncheon. The dwelling site, which is 150m above the sea level, is about 4m round in diameter of inside floor, and 2.1m in height of ceiling. Judging from the fact that the ceiling of the cave was covered with soot, we can figure out that man knew how to use fire those days, too. And it is presumed that people lived in this cave at first and used it as a grave afterwards.

At the time of disco very, in the cave were found human bones of 3 people, and relics such as five sharpened stone axes, two stone arrowheads, three pieces of crystal, one piece of gem stone, body part of a fishing hook, two stone mallets, and five small pieces of earthenware . These relics are regularly exhibited in the Chuncheon National Museum, and their imitations are displayed in the Museum of Hallym University in Chuncheon.
