As a place from which the panorama of Chuncheon, the city of lakeshore, can be seen at one sight, this mountain surrounds like a folding screen in the east beyond the urban district of Chuncheon and has the height of 441.3 m. This mountain composes the boundary of Gamjeong-ri, Janghak-ri, and Mancheon-ri, of Dong-myeon. Since its nine peaks are surrounded like a folding screen, this mountain is called Gubongsan(nine peaks mountain). . As for hiking, the main course starts from the opposite site of the view point rest stop, through the summit, leading to Myeongbong.
The Chuncheon perimeter road connecting Gamjeong-ri and Hakgok-ri, of Sindong-myeon, was connected up to the mountainside in 1992, and afterwards, this mountain became more easily accessible, so it was settled as a rest space for citizens, and also this mountain is known as a place where people can take a rest appreciating the night view of Chuncheon city.Here and there, cafes are located, and recently, many people visit here in order to ride a paragliding.
