As
a limestone cave very rare around Chuncheon, this
cave was found by the exploration team of the
public information office of Chunseong-gun on
September 22, 1980. It is located 300 m far away
to the west from the road in Dokjeom village,
Gamjeong-ri.
The entrance of the cave has the height of around
40 cm and the width of around 60 cm, which is
the size through which people can barely pass.
If you enter inside, a space with the width of
3.8 m and the height of 3m stretches around by
10 m and it is said that the ground consists of
humus soil.
Also it is said that on the ceiling and wall,
stalagmites of gray, black, and white color, which
have snake forms and queer forms develop considerably.
Given the bones of animas remained in the cave
when the cave was founded at first, this cave
is regarded as a retreat of ancient animals. However,
since currently the entrance of the cave is blocked
by soil, it is difficult to confirm even the location
of this cave.
