Since it was opened in December 11, 1998, the
life-long education & information library
collected, put in order, and analyzed materials,
classified them into five categories according
to the use purpose to provide various information,
helps the convenience of users, who have difficulty
in visiting the library, through the book barrow,
operates the education related historical materials
hall where the 100 year history of Gangwon education
can be seen at one sight, and manages various
lifelong education programs and the culture events,
which uses the performance hall, little theater,
and other facilities, so that it contributes to
lifelong education of local residents and cultural
development.
Furthermore, in 2000, it was designated as the
lifelong education & information center of
Gangwon area by the Ministry of Education &
Human Resources Development according to the lifelong
education law, so that, as a representative lifelong
education institution within do(province), it
runs the system by connection with each local
learning hall and also makes lifelong education
programs of each institution materials to comprehensively
guide so that anyone can receive desired education
at any place at any time, and tries many changes
in order to perform more activated lifelong education
