Dial 112 for crimes and accidents Dial 119 for fire and rescue

police mobilize with needed

quickly as possible.
-When a report is filed with 112,
the closest police box will
mobilize to take action as
early as possible.
-System for reporting fire, and requesting rescue or ambulatory assistance, allowing fire department or ambulance to mobilize as quickly as possible.
-When report called in at 119 the closest fire house is mobilized to the scene to take the necessary action as soon as ossible.
Method -Report immediately the sighting
or involvement in any criminal
activity.
-Describe when, where, and how ham has occured. Describe suspect's apperance, belongings, physical characteristics number of people, direction of flight, and your address and telephone number
-Report precise location and type of fire, and your telephone number
-Nature of emergency should be described in full, for example whether elevator accident, building collapse, gas explosion, etc, including whether there are persons in need of urgent medical care

-Calls to 112 may made from mobile phones also with no prefix.
-public telephones do not requrie money for connection to these emergency numbers.
-Calls to 112 are dealt with by computer, so are faster than dialing directly to police boxes or police stations


2) Traffic Accidents
(1) Report to 112 or nearby police box or station.
(2) How to report
-State "There's been a traffic accident" (gyotong sago imnidal, )
-State the time, place, and nearby landmark that is readily identifiable
-If there dead or injured, state the number of hurt individuals and describe their injuries.
-State you name, address, and describe what has happened at the scene since the accident
(3) Victim
-Write down the license plate number of the other automobile.
-Ask the other driver to show you their driver's license , and copy down the person's name and address as stated on the license
-Immediately report the accident to 112 or a nearby police station or police box.
?If you have suffered from impact or have injury in the area of the head or neck, the aftereffects of this may com later. Even light injuries should be examined at a hospital
(4) Offender
-If there are injured persons, work with others present at the site of the accident to have them delivered to the nearest hospital or offer first aid assistance until an ambulance arrives.
-Immediately report the accident to 112 or a nearby police station or police box.

3) Emergency Situation
(1) Call 119 and ask for ambulance or rescue vehicle
(2) Do not panic, and speak clearly
-Since fire houses have both ambulances and fire trucks, begin by stating whether the event is a "fire" (hwajae ) or whether "ambulatory assistance" (gugeup ) is what is needed.

4) Thing to Remember
-Ask for an ambulance if there are people in need of urgent or serious medical attention. Ambulances are free. Refrain from using them if the injuries are light enough to be driven in your car of by taxi.
-While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, prepare needed items such as health insurance card () and cash, and make yourself visible when you hear the ambulance approaching.
-Inform rescue workers of whether the injured has a personal doctor or is receiving hospital treatment.

5) Fire
(1) Quickly inform those around you. Call 119 and ask that a fire truck be sent.
(2) Do not panic, and speak clearly

(4) Thing to Remember
-Take the following action after reporting a fire, depending on the type of situation
-Turn off electricity (at AC distributor or circuit breaker)
-If it is a heating stove fire, wet a blanket and cover the fire.
-If a gas fire, turn off the gas.
-After basic action has been taken, use a fire extinquisher or water to put out the fire as possible. You must not use water in the case of an electrical fire, as you stand risk of being electrocuted
